Oliver is an IT professional and transformational change agent with 20 years of business experience. He joined Accenture in the UK office in 1992 and spent six years working with clients like Credit Suisse, Union Bank of Switzerland, CSFB and the London Stock Exchange on IT transformation, architectures and strategies.
In 1998 Oliver moved to Vancouver, where he joined the local office of Accenture and provide d strategic IT consulting services to utility and energy companies. In 2003 Oliver became Vice President of Customer Care Technology in Accenture’s utilities outsourcing subsidiary, Accenture Business Services for Utilities. In 2005, he was re-deployed to head the newly outsourced IT department of Best Buy Canada. After leaving Accenture in 2008 and following a year of independent consulting work, Oliver joined the University of British Columbia as Chief Information Officer in 2009, where he is leading the transformation of the institution’s IT function.
Oliver was born and raised in Germany and holds a Bachelor degree in astrophysics from the University of London. He and his wife Jacky of 20 years live in Vancouver with their two boys. They enjoy cooking, reading, skiing and the company of their friends.
